Hello Everybody,

I am naveen having around 1 year 6 months of professional experience in Java. I am looking forward to being certified from Sun, preferably a SCJP.

I had a look at those FAQ provided in the forum and i got a basic understanding on the test. Apart from that i would like to have some more tips & suggestions from you people.

Let me tell you all one more thing, my stint in java is purely on maaintenance projects where much of coding is not required. So, i wanted to know, how should i go about this test in particular to the preparation aspect.

Thanks a lot,

Naveen

Hi naveen one of the first thing that every rancher will tell you is go and get a copy of SCJP book by Kathy Serria and Bert Bates you can find it here this is all you need to pass the exam
You do need to be very comfortable with coding so that would be one area you will need to put some efforts so start writing code , no need to write big programs just small code to see how things work and you will do well
Oh by the way since you have not mentioned which version of SCJP you are planning I assume you are giving the latest.. but FYI the above book is also available for SCJP5 check out here
Hope this helps

Thanks abhishek. I am planning to take SCJP 5.0.

So, the K&B book is well enough to face the exam.. right?
