i need to appear for scjp but i am not sure whether to sit for 1.5 or 1.6??Also do we have Indian edition of 'SCJP Sun Certified Programmer for Java 6 Exam 310-065' by kathy and Bert available??

Why not just go for the newest version, which is SCJP 1.6? The difference between SCJP 1.5 and 1.6 is not very big; more info here.

Go for the SCJP 1.6 examination because it's not much different from the 1.5 exam.

Don't know whether the new K&B book in available in India but its definitely there for sale here
