Hi there..

I am planning to give the exam soon but haven't scheduled the exam yet.
I am just a little hesitant about it.
I scored 45% in the Master Exam and 62% in the another master exam.
Barely in the border line.
And solved whatever free mock exams i came across.Didn't buy any though.

I am studying at a really slow pace ,cause i am actually tired of it.
I think I am "decently" prepared ,but scared of flunking or not being prepared "well enough".And that's why keep postponding it.

Also, going through a not-so-good phase of life ,so not exactly feeling very confident about anything (though I am confident by nature )

So what shall i do..go ahead with it or wait..or what..

Nabila, dont feel bad about low scores. I too scored very bad in Master exam and also am giving mock exams which i am coming across and not buying. I plan to give the SCJP 1.4 this week.

Try to give the exam without much delay as the tired feeling might wipe away the interest to give the exam.
I have seen you answer many queries in the forum. Right now i think all you need is a bit of confidence so just try to revise what you have studied and rest will be fine.

I will not take the exam if i don't score more than 70% on mock exams. I think the score on mock exams gives you a good guess of what you gona score on real exam.
Plus SCJP exams test many different objectives in one question, so if you are not sure about one objective then you may miss many questions.

Take a good look at what you know and what you don't, and then try to learn what you don't know.
The best book for the study is the SCJP Study Guide by Kethy Sierra.

Another thing sometimes mock exams are made for the older versions of SCJP, (as you know Sun changes objectives in each exam) make sure you only take the mock exam which is written for the version of the exam that you are taking.

Good Luck!

Vidhya is right....If you study too much for the exam, then you might not give the exam ever.... So just go for it with confidence and watch out for your weak points....

Best of Luck

Hi Nabila!
Sometimes I get tired too.. but I remember my goals and I don't give up.
Cheer up!
That's what you need to feel more confident about yourself!

Then take a deep breath and remember your goals.
Set a deadline for your studies (Yes! This has an end! Don't postpone!) and schedule your exam.

I also agree with Shiraz: the score you take on the mock exams is nearly the same score you will get on a real exam. So..

Give your best!
You'll feel more motivated.
Good Luck!
