I have a friend who is a Software Engineer. He programs primarily in Java. He has done several applications that are used in-house. He graduates with a BS in Computer Science in December of 2002. By that time he will have 1 year and 9 months experience as a Software Engineer. He is looking to move to the Cincinnati area and was wondering how much he should be expecting to make in Cincinnati.
Any ideas?

Giving a range for now would be a good base start from. Then he can judge from there on how the programmer's market is doing a year from now.
Thanks.

Jason:
With a BS-CS and some experience - the rate the past 2 years has been in the US$45K to US$50K/year range.
Even with the current economy - I would say you are still looking at a US$40K - US$50K/year range. Anything less than US$40K/yr (especially with a year's experience) is a disgrace.
