Hi!
Im trying to use javamail to send emails. It works fine as long as I send mails within our organization but fails in sending mails to the Internet: javax.mail.SendFailedException: 550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for email@somedomain.com
Sending mails from my workstation works with Outlook without any problems.
My configuration:
Win2000 Prof, Java 1.3, mailserver is Exchange 2000.
Thanks in advance,
Chris

Organisational mail servers are generally configured for not transmitting mails which have an outside domain name in both the 'TO' and 'FROM' address. And this is precisely what u seem to be doing. U r able to send mail from ur workstation thru Outlook because there u r logged on to ur LAN and the 'FROM' address of the mail u send has the domain name of ur organisation.
Rest is here... http://java.sun.com/products/javamail/FAQ.html#norelay
