Hi all out there,
Althoug I have followed all instrtuction to intall java comm api on my system when I try to run the sampples programs they cannot detect any port in my computer.
The documetation claims:
To place the win32com.dll in <jdk>\jre\bin directory.
Solaris: put the libSolarisSerialParallel.so in the LD_LIBRARY_PATH.
Place the comm.jar in <jdk>\jre\lib\ext.
Place the javax.comm.properties in <jdk>\jre\lib .
And avoid to modigy the CLASSPATH.
However at compilation time java find all package correctly but not at run time.
I have to full qualify the path where my comm.jar is.
And finally whe I run the application I got the message:
"parallel port not found!"
So, what's worng here?

It has been years since I messed with it but I recall that getting the configuration data in the properties file exactl right and getting the file where the package looked for it were the most tricky points.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
