how to use IP address instead of the mail server name in Java Mail ?  RSS feed

I dont know the name of my mail server but I have its IP. Can I use it ?

if you are referring to putting the IP address in the property "mail.smtp.host" instead of the name of the mail server, yes, that will work just fine.
even though the server address is a string, passing the IP address as a string is has the same effect. "192.168.1.101" or "smtp.mydomain.com" are both acceptable.
