I have made a browser extension for Internet Explorer - a vertical explorer bar. The code for the explorer bar is in native C++. But I have coded the child window displayed inside the explorer bar in Java. The problem is that text fields and text areas don't work properly in this Java window. The cursor doesn't get displayed even if text can be typed after clicking on the text control. Other controls like buttons and menu, however, work. Would anybody please help me.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
