knowing the files opened

the problem is i want to know if anyone opens any file on my computer...
Is there a Java API to know which files got opened.....
Should my program be memory resident...?
Please any directions?

No. You could use java.io.File to check lastModified(), but that's it. Keeping track of file access is an operating system activity. Java tries to be OS independent, and it's intended to be used for large scale and distributed applications, so you don't get a lot of low-level functionality.
