Hi,
When I seacch with a term in the search I get results which are very old from year 2001 for about 20 results in the page and there is no next button for that results page....and I am not able to see results which are after that like from year 2003/04/05.
The dated search is only allowed for 30 days old posts..What about if I want 1 year old posts.
Pls reply...waiting........

On the left hand side, just over the list of topics there is a description of how many results were found.
Just to the right of that is a link to the next page "More Matches":

 Displaying Topics 1 - 40 (200 total)      [More Matches]

Also, if you get more than 200 results, you might consider adding more search words to further restrict your search.

You can use google to search the saloon by adding "site:saloon.javaranch.com" to your search terms.

I still cannot get recent results. I am getting results only for max. of 200 matches which are only till year 2001...I want the most recent results from the seearch....
I searched for a very general topic in the search but can't get results from the recent years...matches stop to max. 200 matches..which starts from year 2000 to yr 2001.
Pls respond

Same problem here...

I have only found 2 options so far:

all the recent topics until 30 days ago
a list up to 200 posts from long long time ago

When u try to have some general information like Thread.State for the 5.0 java certification it s not so easy to narrow your research.

It will only drives me to post a new topic that perhaps have already been treated 60 days ago.

ps: an easy modification should be to get the 200 more recent posts sort by DESCENDING date

Please take a look at the JavaRanch Official policy on registered names. In particular note the following:

Obviously fictitious names may be locked out.

No names of celebrities or fictional characters.

Which forum were you searching in, and what was your search term? Searching in the SCJP forum for "Thread.State" provided me with 2 matches. Doing a Google search for "Thread.State certification site:saloon.javaranch.com" gave me 22 matches.

I continue to think that u should update your search function. But I ll take your advice and use Google. Just hope that Google reference ALL the javaranch pages.
