Javax.comm api, Printer info

Dear Friends
Can any one tell me that using javax.comm api how can I obtain the information about printer. I know connecting to parallel port & all, what I want is my prog should give me information as to name of printer, no of pages printed in todays date etc.
Kindly let me know if there's some other api used for this..

In answer to your question, you should look at the javax.print package
