hai friends,
I want to send mail from jsp page using JAVAMAIL API. In that i come across'mail.smtp.host'. I don't know what is 'mail.smpt.host'. Help me to understand.
ur suggestions are welcome.

SMTP stands for simple mail transfer protocol, and is used to send email. mail.smtp.host is the address of the mail server you want to use send your email.
For example, if you had a Yahoo email account, I think their smtp server is smtp.mail.yahoo.com. You would specify this address in your code, and that is the mail server the email would get relayed through.
If you have an email account with your ISP, I would suggest using their smtp server. You'll probably be able to find it by looking at your email account settings in your email reader.

hi Oliver, thanks for ur response.
I able to send using ISP. Is any provision there for sending from free mail servers?(like yahoo,rediffmail & etc). Is any server available for the same.
Suggestions are welcome.
