I'm reading data from a serial port with my app. A hyper-terminal is talking to the app from another computer. The app is reading the data and putting it into a txt file. However, line feeds aren't being read correctly - they come up as a black hollw box, with all the data on one line. I tried erasing the last digit my app receives and printing an additional "\n" but that put two boxes? any ideas? thanks.

This is my bet. Try opening the file with Wordpad instead of Notepad.

With a little knowledge, a cast iron skillet is non-stick and lasts a lifetime.
