Best way to jump start on JMX...

I hope this is the correct forum, I don't see any reference to JMX anywhere else...

I am in the mist of a Java project that uses JMX, and need to quickly get up to speed. So here are a few questions.

What is the latest version of JMX?

What is the best book on JMX? A book that is well written, up to date on the latest version, and have plenty of usable well-written examples?
