Does this mean don't cross post in JavaRanch itself or also cros-forum posting. There was a war about this recently elsewhere. My only feeling is that it is fine if people post links to the other thread in the other place...
It means not to post the same question in multiple JavaRanch forums (or multiple times within the same forum for that matter.) It is ok to post the same question here and at a different forum. Although I recommend seeing if you get an answer here first before going elsewhere
Linking to a question in another JavaRanch forum still has the potential to create multiple discussions of the same thing. Therefore, those threads will be locked or deleted per the policy.
Note that moderators can move your question if necessary. So if you posted in
JDBC and it turned out to be a question about regular expressions (or evolved into one), we would move it for you.
