I'm trying to set up a website wich on registration sends an email. Somehow I keep getting the following error:

javax.servlet.ServletException: No provider for smtp

This error occurs when I invoke

Transport transport = session.getTransport("smtp");

I already know this has to do with the mail.jar and activation.jar but due to the use of plesk I cannot upload them to the server directly.
My provider asked me to upload a mail.war to the server containing mail.jar and activation.jar and it will automaticly be added to my classpath. Yet I keep getting this error.

My provider uses Apache Tomcat 4.1.30 on a linux system and plesk as interface.

I would like to learn how I can make sending emails possible.
Thanks in advance

"Rob C.",

There aren't many rules that you need to worry about here on the Ranch, but one that we take very seriously regards the use of proper names. Please take a look at the JavaRanch Naming Policy and adjust your display name to match it.

In particular, your display name must be a first and a last name separated by a space character, and must not be obviously fictitious.

Thanks!
