using java mail to check the domain name  RSS feed

Hi...i am writing a mail application.. i want to check if the domain name is valid or not before sending the message......or check if the message has be actually sent.......is there any way to get this using java mail.???

No, you can't use JavaMail to see if domains exist. There are other network APIs you can use, but I can't tell you about them because I don't understand them. I believe "MX records" are involved.

thanks for the reply....but what are these MX records??? i dont know abt them....infact i am hearing about it for the first time.....can you explain me what it is??? thanks again....

Wikipedia is your friend: MX Records

You can use nslookup to look them up manually:
