Hi All,
Is there any Java API which I can use to extract files uploaded through ActiveX at browser.
Alternatively is there any other way of file uploading in java apart from multipart form data.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Thanks
AJ

Accessing ActiveX means you have to use JNI, or make use of one of the Java/COM bridges.

Multipart form data is the standard way of uploading files. You can of course roll your own, but why re-invent the wheel, when there are libraries available that handle the upload for you? If you're talking about non-HTTP upload, then there are FTP and SMB client libraries available. The File Upload wiki page may help you get started.

Hi Ulf,

Thanks for the info.
Well my first preference is to use Multipart form data but the problem is that I also need to display the file attributes (say size etc) in the browser when I select them through the HTML File object.

I guess this is not possible through Multipart form data. This was the reason I was looking for ActiveX or other means.

Thanks
AJ
