I'm trying to load some .3ds file for my final project (3D chess with AI). I'm responsible for the 3D portion.
I'm currently using com.mnstarfire as my loader.
This is their instruction for loading: import com.mnstarfire.loaders3d.Inspector3DS; ... Inspector3DS loader = new Inspector3DS("model.3ds"); // constructor loader.parseIt(); // process the file TransformGroup theModel = loader.getModel(); // get the resulting 3D model as a Transform Group with Shape3Ds as children
I transformed the transform group to vector3d (0,0,0) and then added to my scenegraph. However my object didn't show up.
Anyone with experience with starfire, or can you recommend another loader with more specific instructions as to how to deal with the loaded file.
