problem generating report using jasper report as well as birt report

Hi,

i am using Birt reporting tool for generating report.

i can generate report in html but when i try to generate report in pdf it gives me following error.

org.eclipse.birt.report.service.api.ReportServiceException: Report engine fails to create extension to handle this request.

and i have also tried Jasper Report for generating report and in jasper report the report is getting generated perfactly in pdf but when i generate report in html it is not showing my records/data in the report,

its just giving blank lines in report. all other things are getting displaied like date time, page header, report header, the only data are not getting display, what may be the cause of it ???
