Hello, I just started reading this article HERE.

Just wondering if it's outdated or if it will suit me well! For starters, I just want to create a simple voice chat application over a LAN network, and was wondering if this article will put me in the right direction, or are there other (more recent) articles that would do a better job?

Also, how is the Java Sound API different from the Java Media Framework?
