I need to make a java String compatible with XML.This java string has to be stored into the XML file. (So that SAXPARserEXception isnt thrown at the other end)
I looked into XMLEncoder and SAXParser but could not make sense out of them.
Any ideas?

Generally there's no problem creating XML files containing whatever strings you want in them in. If an exception is being thrown then you're possibly generating invalid XML. What does the XML look like? Also post the full text of the exception.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
