A few years ago, when I first got into contract work I sent my CV to a company who made it available to lots of recruitment agencies. I'm now in the position of needing this service again, but can't remember who I used (or even if they are still available).
Does anyone know of such a service for UK agencies?

Have a look at:
http://www.jobsite.co.uk/
http://www.planetrecruit.com/
http://www.jobserve.co.uk/
These are about the best in my experience for getting your CV seen by a lot of agencies in the UK - all the major agencies and most of the small ones trawl these sites on a regular basis looking for candidates.
The usual warnings apply - the quality of research done by these people is generally pretty low. You will receive a lot of phone calls that go like this:
"Hi Frank, I'm so-and-so from so-and-so recruitment - I got your CV from gojobsite. Blah, blah, blah..." (as the conversation develops, it becomes increasingly clear that yes, they do have a copy of your CV, but no, in fact they have not actually bothered to READ it!)
Still, these people are a necessary evil and the above sites are a good way to get the ball rolling.
Hope this helps
Michael

Looks like it might have paid off already. I've got a "phone interview" tomorrow (the first one of these I've ever done!). The job is further away than I've gone for before, but I guess that's what the market is like, these days.

Oh well, didn't get that one. Back to sharpening my CV and searching the job sites.
