I am creating a text file on a windows platform. This file is then accessed each time my software is executed, by multiple users. I am having permission problems on Windows 2000 machines where one user may create the file, then other users are not able to write to the file. Is there a way to set permissions on a file when it is created?

Hi Shane,
java.io.FilePermission class exposes methods that can help you out with that. I haven't tried it out myself.
