Hi..Everyone!

I am not a java programmer and have a very little knowledge about it. I would really appreciate if someone could send me example code of java applet which reads content of a text file and displays those contents on the web page. The thing I am trying to do is a kind of alert message for the end users. I am planning on using a text file to put latest alert messages for the users and I am thinking that the applet would read the contents of that file and display them. I am not sure if this is the right way of doing that type of thing. If someone can suggest a better way and have an existing code example I will really appreciate that.

Thanks

Sheraz, if your server supports it, then I would definitely suggest using JSP or a Servlet instead of an Applet. They run on the server side, so all that the user sees is the results (as an HTML file). If you'd like to learn more, I'd definitely suggest java.sun.com. That site also contains many helpful examples.
Hope this helps,
-Stu
