Database and JAVA

Im considering getting into the DBA field. But I understand that lots of DBA's have to contribute to development side of creating databases.
Im already oracle DBA OCP 9i certified (i got certified on my own).
Do you guys think I should start brushing up on my JDBC and XML?
Or do the DBA's at your job simply stick to the database management and let the developers worry about the java end?

hi James,
i think u better stick with DBA than going into jdbc and stuff. u can learn jdbc, xml etc if u want but i would not think that its important for dba to know such things. dba has already many things to worry about...(though i'm not sure which ones but i learned little oracle fundamentals long back and i thought its so much to understand to win 'redo log buffer' )
