is the only way to write a file to a web server
is via a cgi script on the web server ?
the only info I can see is to use a URLConnection
the getting the outputStream and writing to that.
Does anyone have am alternative?
thank you

Are you talking about sending a file from the Client to the web server, or having a process on the server (like a servlet) write the file?

The most popular method and likely the easiest is to use HTTP file upload as defined per RFC 1867.

hey rob,
i am talking about sending a file from a client
to a server.
i have not found a direct way to do that from
the client.
looks like i need to make a HttpURLConnection
to a cgi script to do the writing.
is there a more direct way like the way you
can write a file to your local hard drive.
thanks
