low level programming in java?  RSS feed

can anybody help me with question - in java are any possibility to code a program that can read write info from hdd flash(hdd ram so on) or any other address range ? if can - help with url 8) please

You can't write code to do what you're asking about in pure Java, but it is entirely possible to link Java code with low-level C code to create a library capable of doing what you need. Java methods implemented in C this way are called native methods. See, for example, Sun's native methods tutorial.

The lowest level programming i ever did was alpha assmebly, the compiler(alpha simulator) that was used to complie and run the asm program was written in Java.
