I need some serious career advice from you all.
I have over 4 years of IT experience and 3 certifications like IBM certified XML Developer,Sun Certified Web Component Developer and Sun Certified Java Programmer.
Unfortunately I have been out of job for the last 2 years.Somehow the market has struck me real bad and I am as my name suggest just a confused soul.
I worked on IBM and Sun certifications last yr,hoping it would improve my career prospects, but nothing worked.
I am now on an H4 visa.I contacted many consulting firms, but their concern is obviously my break in career.
Please suggest me something that would help me to choose the right direction and reenter the market.
I dont think that spending another 3-4 months working for another certifications would be of any help.
Thanks and Regards.

My advise is lie.
There is no way any employer is going to give you a job if you have been doing jack for the past 2 years.
Say you were working at a startup for the past 2 years which has now hit the wall, get a mate to give you a reference.

Simon, I just lost a lot of respect for you.
Lying is never appropriate. It is immoral, unethical, and downright irresponsible. It should be avoided at all costs.
It is also grounds for dismissal if your company ever finds out; and in the cases of some companies, a felony.
