This class appears to have functions which would allow me to pass in a file array and a string to search for, returning (assumed) the files which do contain that string.
The JavaDoc is incomplete so I was hoping someone else has experimented with this and had some success. Searches on both google and JavaRanch have proven to be unsuccessful.
FYI.. I have already written code to bring each file into a straing buffer and simply run a String.indexOf(java.lang.String) on it.. however, the reason I want to use this class is because when you try to apply my current method to a 300mb PDF (for example.. extreme circumstance), the JVM runs out of memory. I increased my memory allocation to 512mb and have the same problems. This case is even more common if multiple users happened to search within a file that's only 30 mb at the same since the memory total would add up rather fast.
If anyone has any suggestions aside from this class, I am more than open to them!
