Can i access the USB port through the communication API. All i need is to connect LED to the USB port and turn it on...please help me out...

You can, I'll check for a link...
The only way I've seen is via classes written for the Lego MindStorm RCX brick. The code is written to send instructions to the RCX brick via USB, but the source is also available so it might give you a leg up.

Also, IBM has posted a JSR spec on the community board for official USB support, check on the jsr.org site. Spec number is JSR80.
The Lego USB API is fairly limited, so I hope the JSR80 will be on the roll soon!

I need to conect a simple circuit to USB, send a bit and hold it for a instant. Has someone an example of input/output with jsr-80?
