Hi,

I was wondering how to play music (mp3 files) using java?
any starting tips would be appreciated!

Try out http://www.planet-source-code.com
They have source code for programs like that. As far as I remember, they have a Java MP3 Player.

I couldnt find it there though...!
The thing is that I want to learn, myself, how to play Audio. If you know of a tutorial or something somewhere (or even some sample code i guess) that would be helpful. Im trying to make an mp3 Alarm clock...!

this site has a lot of sample code and pointers on how to use the sound api to play all types of music files. There is a source code for a simple mp3 player to get you started.
 
It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
