Hello ranchers,

I have a project (academic)where i stream voice on LAN.. i was wondering how to go about it.. and another problemm .. say there are 2 systems on lan and to are already in a converstion.. wht if another system wanna speak with either of those.. how to tackle those situations.. please i need java rancher experts inputs!!

You can start with the Java Media Framework. That's what Java uses for managing audio and video in applications. Working with the JMF is not trivial. You may be better off working through the Java Tutorial's Custom Networking trail and making a simple chat app and server, then once you've got some experience with networking, attempting your audio chat server.
 
It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
