This is regarding a serialport program.I want to connect the two systems through a modem connected to the both ends.If i dialled the destination number,i want to communicate with that system and also pass the data or a string from one end to the other.And i want the proper response for that.But,all these must be done using Java CommAPI.

It would seem that the solution you are looking for is going to involve some serial I/O. I'll move this thread to the I/O forum so that you might get better response.

You can start with the Java Comm User Guide and looking at the examples that come with the API download.
