I'm trying understand the most efficient way to build a Collection ontaining all of the absolute path names of all files on a hard drive.

I understand I have to iterate through each directory starting with the root, or "\" in a MS-WIndows box, however, list seems too easy!

Am I missing something?

No you are not missing out anything. Just use a recursive method to detect all
the subfolders and thier files in a top folder of a drive.
