Please don't post the same question more than once. I'm going to lock the other post.
It's often difficult to get help for the more niche Java products. Add the fact that the company that developed JIMI, Activated Intelligence, is now defunct and the JIMI library is provided by sun only for existing code dependencies and I think you'd bestsearch for a currently supported solution.

You might also try the "Other Java APIs" forum since the API itself should handle I/O for you. Your issue is using the Jimi API -- not Java's I/O classes.
 
It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
