Hi,
I had to take a year long bed rest because of a complicated pregnancy. I am a Java programmer (Java, JSP at front end and C++,ORACLE at the backend) with 5 years of experience. Please give me advice on whether the companies hire people who were not working for the past 1 year or so.
Should I join a post graduation course and be a fresher again ? I got the first job in a reputed Indian company through campus recruitment and after that I had never tried for another job. So I dont have any idea how to tackle the situation. Any pointer would be highly appreciated.
Thanks

When you have such a genuine reason, I don't think you'll have any problem in joining another company after having 5 years experience in areputed company, not at least in India.
As for PG, it entirely depends on your interest, if you are interested you can go for it. But that won't make you a fresher again. Take adavantage of your 5 years exp.
All the best!!!

Your previous experience would really help to get a work back easily. Do not worry. Your health is more important right now. Take care.

Thanks a lot for the replies.
I already feel quite relieved.
