Hi,
I'm trying to read a file thats encoded in a us-ascii format now i am trying to convert this file into UTF-8 format and read it using the FileInputStreamReader and displaying the data in a Jtable.
How can i convert the file ?

Please help!

A lot of text editors these days have the option of saving in UTF-8. If you want to do it programmatically, you can read it using ASCII, then write it using UTF-8.
 
It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
