I attempted to serialize a Vector in order to save its contents in a file, but got an exception. Here is the code that throws the exception. The user inputs some info via the user interface. The values are encapsulated in class Film. The Film Object is added to the Vector. The stack trace follows the code in question. Vector films = new Vector();

Are you sure that class Film, all classes of all member variables of Film, all classes of the members of those members etc. all implement interface Serializable?

The error message suggests that something called "film_titles.Film" does not implement Serializable.

Yes, you are right. I forgot to add implements Serializable to class Film

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
