how to get the content of the MS word file

when we use google we can see it can search into the file but how they did it ? is there any tool or APIs? I just want to get the content nothing else.
I use jacob before but it is too complicated. thanks

Welcome to JavaRanch.

You might have a look at the POI library. Its Word-processing facilities are not under active development anymore, but if you just want to read a file it may be sufficient.

If you want to work with Word documents you must be prepared to use a complicated API. The last time I looked at doing that (several years ago) I found that Word's object model had several hundred different classes in it. Just saying you want it to be simple isn't going to make it simple, unfortunately.
