i have a rtf file where there are tables each table is preceded by a placeholder tag,i have to read the place holder,data that i have to populate in the table is in xml format in a string buffer,now after reading the placeholder from rtf file i have to search for the placeholder in the stream buffer and then populate the data in the rtf tables


any help will be highly appreciated ....

I'm not aware of a library that allows you to work with RTF in this manner. If input and output have to be RTF, you might parse the RTF file using a parser generated by Antlr/SableCC/JavaCC (all of which have RTF grammars), and then generate another file by directly outputting RTF from your code.

Swing has the RTFEditorKit, but there's little documentation on it. It should be similar to working with HTMLEditorKit, which does have some documentation.
