Hi

we have 3000 images in the source folder.when i start my Thread application at evening 7 o clock.

my thread has sleep interval 1(one) minute.

my thread appliaction will slepp one minute and transfer files from source folder to destination folder via FTP.

consider scenario one:

if my source folder has 1000 images how many files can be transfered to destination folder.

am using File[] files = f.listName();

The Api (List files will pick up images and tranfer one by one(FTP) and finally it will delete file from the source folder).(sleep time is one minute)

do i have any restriction to pick up only 100 images per minute?(in listfiles).

pls hlp how do i solve this problem???

if have any query pls post me ASAP.

regards

Not really sure what you are asking... but since you wrote the program, can't you just add a restriction to only transfer the first 100 files that you get from the file listing?

BTW, this not a *threads* performance issue -- as the bottleneck seem to be related to I/O.

Considering that an FTP operation is mostly I/O bound, I would say that the "performance of thread" would be insignificant in comparison. In order words, this is not a threads issue. It doesn't make much sense to measure how threads are performing during the operation.

I'm moving this thread to "I/O and Streams".
