ObjectOutputStream not working  RSS feed

the first code sample is in my actionPerformed() method.
the user can add a new file extension and short description that will show up in the JTable beside each file on their system. I have tested a printout after the line "list.put(extension, description);" and the two Strings are added to the list. the OutputStream method further below does not write the updated list to the file for some reason as it is intended to do.

Your code looks OK to me...
However, I think we might get more information if you fix your 'writeExtentionList' method , to actually print out any caught excpetions.
Currently, you call ex.toString(), which creates a string in memory, but nothing is printed to screen...

I inserted the stacktrace methods and reran the method but nothing was printed out
