I used to work for Accenture in NY and a people were leaving because of pay cuts. I don't know how it is in India but suspect they want people there for cheap labor like a lot of companies are doing now.

Accenture is hiring a lot in Mumbai/Bangalore.Salry and perks are definitely better than Indian software companies.Go to their website and apply.Remember that its not product making comppany but consulting company.Just few days back they were searching for HelpDesk Administrator cum programmer and ready to give any salary.

Hi,
Didn't mean to interrupt. I found the majority of ethnic companies are low paid in comparison to westerner companies.
In OEM, I could understand why and how. But in software, I need inputs from you all.

Regards,
MCao

MCao,
I think you should see the salary of such companies (in what you call Ethnic countries) not just from the global perspective but also from local persepective. As it is salary of the Software professionals in these countries are quiet good. Many of them are earning much more than their counterpart in the Millitary or even in Medicine. Who would want to remain other professions in these countries if the software companies started paying salaries comparable to Western countries? What you are suggesting is going to have an adverse sociological implications and even more imbalance in the salary structure than is already there.

If you are fresh out of school, dont worry about the work. Find a job first. As already pointed out, it's not a product company. They probably w'd do anything & everything. Pay s'd be better than a infy / wipro. Yup I too heard that they need people atleast here in Bangalore. They w'd probably emphasize more on soft skills (since customer interaction w'd probably be the primary activity).
As for cheap labour :-) , well yes if you are literally going to convert $-->INR, very true, it turns out to be cheap, but if you look @ the kind of life u can have staying here with that money, it's pretty decent.
