Iam having a file where one java program updates the file and the other java program will be invoked when this file is updated.

Is there an event that can be thrown when a file is updated?

Thanks

Welcome to JavaRanch.

No, there's nothing in Java that can do this directly. However, there are many ways two programs can communicate with one another (email, JMS, sockets, etc.). Maybe that's a possibility in your case?

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
