I'm trying to pass data I received from a TCP socket connection to a serial port. I also have another application, running locally on the same machine, that is listening for data from that same serial port.

I need some help in developing the code to send this data to a serial port (real or virtual) and have that application (that's listening for the data) to recognize the port.

Thanks for the help.

Serial communication will require a separate library. You use Java Comm 3.0 if you are on a *nix OS. If you are on Windows, you can try Java Comm API 2.0 or the open source RXTX.
