I attended JavaOne last week and was very impressed by the turnout there. Conference attendence has been notoriously bad in conjunction with the recession - I wonder if this is a sign that things will be getting better?

You should've stopped by and said hi to the JavaRanch crowd. There were 10 of us there.
I thought attendance was pretty low. Do you know what the numbers were? I'm guessing around 6,000, whereas two years ago it was 25,000.

I've seen numbers posted from 12,000 to 15,000 people. It did seem like it was about as large as last year, which was in the same ballpark as well.

I wish I'd known you guys were there, I would have stopped by. I don't know the exact numbers, maybe I was just expecting a really poor turnout so it seemed like more than it really was.
