Hello,

Im writing an application that has to talk to a device through a serial port. I using rxtx and I already got the PC and the device to talk to each other.

Each time I start the application on the PC side it looks through all the port until it finds the one Im interested in, I want to save the portId (which is a CommPortIdentifier type variable) but I cannot serialize it. Is there another way I can avoid the search through all ports? Is there another way I can save the portId?

Thanks,

Enrique

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
