Hello respected members,
My question may seem inappropriate to some people but inspite of that i would want to put it here. Also the best thread i found for this question is this one.So if the question doesn't seem to fit for this thread please forgive me and move it to appropriate place.
Is there any way by which USB plug-in event be captured through a java program running in the background. What i wnt to do is i will first capture the event and then will show the contents of the drive. And then i want to copy the contents of the drive to the harddrive.

Thanks and Regards

I had a similiar project requirement . I basically looked at all the root drives on the client machine at the time the application starts and compared the drives found when an action listener is invoked . The new drive found is the new USB drive plugged in. I haven't seen another method, but always open to new ideas.
