displaying a file in jsp.  RSS feed

hi,
I have a table with 2 rows and 2 coloum in a jsp page. According to an link cliked at 2 quadrent I have to show a file at 4th quadrent. The content of the file should stay in the 4th quadrent only. But I am unable to use frames.
somebody please help...

If the name of your jsp is: "SelfReferential.jsp"

Then your links would look something like: "SelfReferential.jsp?file=fileName"

And in the fourth quadrant you'd use a dynamic include, based on the parameter 'file'

This would mean the page reloads. If the page can't reload, and you can't use frames.. I think you're in a bit of trouble. The only other thing I can think of is DHTML that hides and shows layers. But depending on how much info is in this fourth quadrant, that can be a HUGE download. (if there are 20 possible files, a DHTML solution would need to hide 19 of them, and show 1).
